Summary A Chemical Batch Maker mixes, disperses and converts raw material into finished product. Using scales and other measuring devices, the batcher follows a batch ticket that contains the amounts of material, order of addition and process instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean up mixer and surrounding area

Check Daily Production Schedule

Prepare mixer switches and valves

Load mixer with materials and water based on batch specifications

Dump batch when ready for packaging

Review production schedule to ensure everything is available and working for daily production

Special projects to assist the manufacturing of mixes

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Misc. duties assigned by supervisor/manager.

QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience: High school diploma; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication and Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Physical Demands

Up to 2/3 of the time the incumbent will be standing and walking and less than 1/3 of the time sitting.

Use of hands to handle, reach and lift up to 50 pounds 2/3 of the time and up to 100 pounds or more 1/3 of the time.

Vision requirements include close vision at 20 inches or less, distance vision at 20 feet or more and depth perceptions to judge spatial relationships.

Work is performed inside a manufacturing plant environment where the temperature may vary significantly due to changes in temperature outside and constant opening and closing of doors. Noise level may be high from time to time caused by the shifting of parts and assemblies and normal human communication and interaction in a shop, storeroom, and warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule:

2nd Shift 3pm-11:30pm M-F

Pay:

This position has a salary range of $24.00-$25.00 + $0.75 shift differential. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location

Bonus Pay:

Meridian is actively participating in a productivity incentive plan for 2026. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
