About the Role The Shipping Operator works as part of a team to provide material handling, maintenance, inspection, and general support for daily operations. The role involves operating mobile equipment, performing inventory and shipping tasks, and ensuring safe and organized work environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, trackmobiles, and cherry pickers.
Load and unload bulk trucks, railcars, bulk bags, and barges.
Store, stock, and handle materials accurately to ensure proper deliveries.
Perform routine maintenance and welding as needed on equipment and machines.
Conduct inventory measurements, reporting, and recordkeeping as required.
Utilize computer systems to process shipments, receive products, maintain inventories, input bills of lading, and complete procurement tasks.
Maintain clean and safe warehouse and work areas for efficient operations.
Perform inspections and provide documentation and reporting as directed by supervisors.
Assist other departments as needed.
Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies and promote a culture of safety in all work environments.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
2 years of related experience in industrial operations preferred
Skills & Experience:
Effective computer and systems skills
Knowledge of mobile equipment operation, cement manufacturing equipment, and basic mechanical/electrical skills preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License preferred
Additional Requirements
Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators where required (must be clean‑shaven for seal testing)
Ability to perform physical tasks as required
