Summary This is a skilled position requiring the individuals to manage a variety of functions related to trucking operations. The individual must have a good understanding of construction, paving and material distribution business as they relate to transportation. Dispatch will be responsible for observing safety practices within the team and on the job site and will monitor the daily duties of operations within the department and will advise, correct and document as needed. Position reports to the Transportation Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare & direct drivers daily activities

Schedule delivery of product to job locations

Take orders from internal and external customers and ship in a timely manner

Must be customer service oriented, both internally and externally

Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped

Coordinate deliveries with company truck drivers and external trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers

Maintain professional demeanor in stressful conditions

Be able and willing to work flexible hours including overtime as job needs arise

Reliable attendance is essential to performance in this role

Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers

Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements/Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience in related function

At least 1 year of related experience

Must be able to effectively multitask

Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Excellent mathematical and communication skills

Class A CDL

Physical Environment May require additional lifting of up to 25lbs

Endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling

Walking and standing for long periods of time
