Base pay range $18.00/yr - $23.00/yr

Material Handler The Material Handler at McLane Global is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the distribution center. This role supports receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.

Key Responsibilities Receiving & Unloading

Unload incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders or packing slips

Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies to the supervisor

Material Handling & Storage

Move materials to designated storage areas using riding electric pallet jacks or other material‑handling equipment

Ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage of products following warehouse layout and safety procedures

Order Picking & Packing

Accurately pick materials according to order specifications using RF scanners or pick lists

Prepare, pack, and stage orders for shipment in compliance with company standards

Shipping

Assist in preparing shipping documentation and loading outbound shipments

Ensure all outgoing materials meet customer and carrier requirements

Safety & Maintenance

Operate warehouse equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of the work area

Follow all safety guidelines, including Food Safety, PPE use, equipment inspection, and proper lifting techniques

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

1‑2 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners a plus

Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and stand/walk for extended periods

Attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and time‑management skills

Team‑oriented with good communication skills

Basic computer literacy (for inventory and order tracking)

Commitment to workplace safety, food safety and efficiency

Working Conditions

Fast‑paced distribution center setting

Exposure to warehouse equipment noise and variable temperatures (Cooler and Freezer as needed – Cold gear provided)

Monday – Friday day shift work, weekends, or overtime depending on operational needs

Additional physical efforts pertaining to the job
