Job Description: Brooksource is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment at a Power Plant construction site with PPL Corporation. This field-focused role involves actively monitoring contractors, identifying and correcting safety hazards, and supporting the implementation of safety procedures. The position requires on-site presence at Mill Creek five days per week, working collaboratively with another safety professional who handles the majority of paperwork and reporting tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Safety Oversight & Compliance
Actively monitor and oversee safety practices of contractors performing construction work on-site
Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Recommend corrective actions in the field when safety performance is unacceptable
Coordinate compliance with Company Policy, including LOTO, hot work, confined space protocols, and other safety requirements
Field Presence & Communication
Maintain a strong presence in the field, serving as a resource and point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns
Attend project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant project meetings to discuss safety-related matters
Provide clear, concise feedback to contractors and workers regarding safety compliance
Safety Planning & Implementation
Assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, including emergency evacuation, fire, medical, and rescue protocols
Collaborate with the on-site safety lead to ensure all safety procedures and documentation are current
Assist in the investigation of project-related accidents
Confer with supervisor to determine root cause and discuss recommendations for changes in work processes to eliminate recurrence
Additional Duties

Comply with all company policies and standards
Required Qualifications: Education & Certifications
OSHA 30 certification (required)
OSHA 500 or CHST certification (preferred)
Bachelor's degree in safety or related field, or equivalent experience (preferred)
Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction safety
Experience in industrial or power plant settings (preferred)
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards
Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
Strong time management and organizational skills
Competent in standard software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Valid driver’s license (this is a driving role with potential use of company vehicle on-site)
Location: On-site at Mill Creek, 5 days per week
Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week; shift determined by contractor’s schedule
Schedule Flexibility: Nights and weekends possible based on project needs
Physical Requirements: Field-based role requiring regular site walks and inspections in an active construction environment
