Overview The Assistant F&B Manager assists in coordinating, supervising, and directing all aspects of the food and beverage outlet’s operations. The candidate will maintain profitability, uphold high quality products and service levels, market promotional ideas, reduce employee turnover, and meet budgeted productivity while ensuring consistent quality.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous service to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
Oversight of all daily operations of the outlet.
Supervise outlet personnel and support staff during meal periods.
Respond to guest complaints promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with other F&B managers and keep them informed of operational issues.
Provide the immediate supervisor with timely updates on problems or matters requiring attention.
Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the outlet.
Prepare and submit required reports, including Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, employee schedules, and quarterly action plans.
Monitor service quality and ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, SOPs, and requisition procedures.
Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.
Train employees on SOPs and technical job tasks.
Lead departmental and hotel training initiatives such as CARE and One-to-One.
Interview candidates for front‑of‑house F&B positions and follow hiring approval standards.
Complete tip reporting and maintain overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4‑year college degree, or a 2‑year college degree with 1+ years of related experience.
Ability to work long hours as required.
Physical requirement: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, serving all levels of employees and guests with an attentive, friendly, and courteous demeanor.
Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities to meet departmental deadlines.
Attendance at all hotel‑required meetings and trainings, and participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
Commitment to Highgate Hotel standards of attendance, personal appearance, grooming, and operational safety.
Ability to identify problem areas, propose solutions, and assist in implementing productivity improvements.
Capability to handle complex information, maintain confidentiality, and comply with company regulations.
Willingness to perform other duties as requested by management.
