Site Acquisition Project Manager
– Join Colliers Engineering & Design’s growing telecom team in Columbus, OH.
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a Site Acquisition Project Manager to lead the acquisition, modification upgrades, and new site builds for tier‑1 tower owners and telecom carriers nationwide.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparation of proposals including project scope, schedule, and man‑hour budgets.
Act as point of contact for multiple clients and grow relationships to ensure sustainable backlog.
Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy clients.
Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
Manage, coach, and support an in‑office team of site acquisition agents (employee and independent contractor).
Deliver guidance on site selection, zoning, negotiation strategies, documentation standards and communication.
Strong understanding of leasing, real estate principles, zoning regulations, and land‑use processes.
Ability to read and interpret legal, real estate, and technical documents, including surveys, leases, easements, deeds, title policies, and construction drawings.
Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisor's approval.
Collaborate with A&E leads (internal and external) to ensure project timelines.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the projects to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. project team meeting).
Review monthly man‑hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre‑established goal.
Assist with mentoring junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
Assist with the preparation and attendance for public hearings, meetings, and any other presentations related to his/her projects.
Responsible for ordering subconsultant services and scheduling/coordinating field crews.
Work efficiently with the billing department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follow up with clients for timely payments.
Adhere to health and safety program and all applicable SOPs.
May oversee the activities of assigned staff, such as timesheet review/approval, performance evaluation, and daily supervision.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
7+ years of telecommunications industry experience, preferably in wireless site acquisition, permitting, or land development.
Real estate license is a plus.
Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
Ability to balance competing high priorities and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
Maintain and build effective business relationships.
Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job‑related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
