Sales Rep - Relief Large Grocery/Mass Merch

Position fills in as the primary store‑level sales person to large accounts such as supermarkets, providing service and growing business in assigned accounts. The role includes ordering products, delivering to the store, generating sales, stocking, merchandising, and building promotional displays. Requires frequent interaction with store management. The position is labor intensive, with lifting, loading, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting cases weighing 20‑45 pounds repeatedly for a 10‑12 hour shift, including weekends and holidays.
Primary Accountabilities
Grow sales volume, market share, product distribution, space allocation, and customer service in all assigned accounts.
Sell product inventory to standards.
Take inventory and place orders for future delivery.
Solicit new business to increase volume and new package distribution within area boundaries.
Sell and execute promotions, solicit placement of equipment and sell sufficient product inventory.
Utilize point‑of‑purchase materials to stimulate sales.
Generate selling opportunities by maintaining and increasing shelf facings, cleaning shelves, and rotating products.
Provide excellent service to assigned accounts, create and maintain goodwill with all customers.
Merchandise product sections and build displays to stimulate sales.
Complete paperwork in an accurate, legible, and timely manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned by manager (e.g., warehouse support).
Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
Basic Qualifications
18 years or older.
Must have personal transportation to access multiple store locations within assigned shift.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with proof of insurance.
Helpful Experience
Experience with consumer products (multiple products, packages, sizes).
Experience in the beverage industry (segments, types of customers, competitors, trends).
Experience with power equipment (lift jacks, power jacks, u‑boats, pallet jacks).
Experience with handheld computers (mobile technology).
Experience managing inventory (current stock, projected sales, ordering/ restocking).
Experience in business‑to‑business selling (making sales calls, building relationships).
Experience with merchandising (standards, plannagrams, displays, stocking/rotating product, back‑room organization).
Experience managing incorrect orders (solving wrong order, managing out‑of‑stock product).
Experience performing financial and mathematical calculations (calculating profit margins, determining display size).
Experience managing a route (prioritizing stops, setting schedule, servicing accounts).
Experience with incremental selling (up‑selling, suggestive selling).
Experience following safety procedures (proper lifting techniques, safety processes).
For positions that require use of a personal vehicle for a sales route, mileage reimbursement is provided.
