Responsibilities
Assist with day‑to‑day store operations and continuous development of effective store associates to achieve desired sales and profit results.
Assess daily the store’s ability to meet or exceed customer expectations for shopping ease, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety and regulatory compliance.
Coach and develop associates through formal and informal interactions.
Lead teams in planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operating initiatives.
Develop action plans for department leaders and associates to achieve sales and profit goals.
Assist the store manager with financial performance discussions, budget development and other targeted goals.
Utilize coordinators and field staff to ensure store departments reach sales and profit targets and execute division merchandising plans.
Promote community relationships, support union representatives, and serve as liaison providing feedback to management.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, development and associate‑relations responsibilities.
Reduce turnover, increase retention, manage labor and supply costs to meet service and financial targets.
Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications Minimum
High School Diploma or GED.
Successfully completed the applicable Division Management Training Program.
Desired
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience with supervisory responsibilities, retail, budget preparation and management.
Strong ability to lead teams in merchandising and operational initiatives.
Drive sales maximizing profitability, reducing shrink and improving department contributions.
Assist in hiring, onboarding and associate development.
Manage labor and supply costs effectively.
Strong technical and professional skills with continuous learning.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
