We are seeking an experiencedbilingual Safety Coordinator (English/Spanish)to support active job sites, work directly with field leadership, and help drive continuous improvement across our safety program.
This role isfield-focusedand requires daily interaction with concrete crews, superintendents, and subcontractors on active construction sites
Position Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Suntec’s safety program across multiplecommercial and structural concretejob sites. The ideal candidate is confident in the field, knowledgeable in OSHA construction standards, and capable of influencing crews to maintain safe work practices.
This position reports to the Safety Manager and works closely with project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Enforce Suntec’s safety policies, procedures, and standards across all active job sites
Conduct regular job site safety inspections, audits, equipment checks, and hazard assessments
Lead and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
Communicate OSHA and company safety requirements clearly to field crews and subcontractors
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; track corrective actions to completion
Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, and compliance logs
Serve as a point of contact during OSHA inspections and regulatory visits
Analyze safety data and trends and recommend corrective or preventive actions
Coach and influence superintendents, foremen, and crews to reinforce safe work behaviors
Support the Safety Manager with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of construction safety experience
(commercial, structural concrete, or heavy construction required)
Bilingual in English and Spanish
(must be able to conduct safety conversations in both languages)
Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
Experience conducting job site safety inspections and incident investigations
Ability to confidently engage field crews and stop unsafe work when necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
Ability to pass a physical exam and drug screening
Preferred Experience & Certifications
Experience in structural concrete or heavy civil construction
OSHA 30 Certification (required if not already held)
OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 (preferred; required for advancement within the safety department)
First Aid / CPR (required within 6 months of hire if not already certified)
