Machine Operator
Packaging Services Industries, Inc., began production in 1976 and represents a family of privately owned businesses located in Maryland (MD) and Pennsylvania (PA). Since our inception, PSI has expanded to three plants, located in the Mid‑Atlantic region and is staffed by over 350 employees. Position Summary PSI Container, located in McAdoo, PA, is a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and we are seeking Machine Operators to join our team. Machine Operators set up and operate the machines safely to produce our specialty products. These are full time, 1st shift positions that do
not
require the ability to work rotating shifts. Core schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm (includes 30‑minute unpaid lunch) and Friday 6:00 am to 10:00 am and includes the ability to work occasional overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safe operation of all machinery and adhere to all safety rules and initiatives.
Oversee machine operations to ensure minimal downtime and excellent finished product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Maintain proper documentation and machine entries for each job.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Responsibilities
Safety first mentality.
Mechanical skills.
Basic knowledge of industrial machinery.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Team‑oriented approach.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Above‑average organizational skills and detail orientation.
Ability to enter product specifications into computers.
Ability to handle a physical workload, up to 50 pounds, standing for the majority of the shift.
Strong troubleshooting experience.
Basic math skills required (fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
To be successful in this position, you must be willing to make a commitment of time and effort to become part of a team producing quality corrugated boxes in a safe, drug‑free environment. Experience in operating forklifts in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
