Responsibilities Position Summary:

The Machine Operator operates the CNC machine to cut and build rollers, sets up and operates a variety of machines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Measuring and setting up machines to manufacture a high volume of parts

Performing machine shop and mold press operations to support Assembly

Detecting defective materials and questionable conditions and reports to the manager

Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition

Following safety regulations

Performing preventative maintenance on machines

Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

Ability to use a band saw, hand tools and calipers and perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, deburring, molding, and all bench operations

Ability to read blueprints

Basic math skills

Knowledge of standard and metric measurements

Knowledge of quality assurance and self‑inspection techniques

Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented

Team orientation

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

Medium work:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Reaching:

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing:

Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking:

Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Pushing:

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pulling:

Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting:

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Grasping:

Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Hearing:

Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.

Repetitive motions:

Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual:

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
