Responsible for assisting in the orderly operation of the Community Center front desk, utilizing clerical/receptionist skills while dealing with the public and co-workers. REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months experience in general office duties, strong computer skills and experience dealing with the public required. Must possess an aptitude for learning a multi-layered software application. Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal; and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform all Rec-Trac software related duties utilizing activity, pass, POS, and facility modules. Process registrations; including answering inquires, customer transfers, handling paperwork and collecting of fees as required. Monitor and follow up with all online e-mail questions. Demonstrate acquired knowledge of Wheaton Park District facilities, parks, and programs. Direct patrons to specific Community Center locations. General clerical work that may include typing and word processing. Open office and secure office upon closing. Accurately file documents and reports. Utilize OneNote to stay informed of changes and updates by reading every shift. Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC. CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to: frequently sit for long periods of time, with repetitive use of hands/arms such as when using a computer and occasionally move items such as boxes of catalogues, bags of sports equipment, etc. weighing up to 25 lbs. ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS This position must be able to handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities and work frequently in an office environment with moderate to loud noise levels. HOURS Monday - 4:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. SALARY $15.00-$17.00 per hour SALARY RANGE Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum $15.00 - $18.75 - $22.50 The Wheaton Park District is an equal opportunity employer.
