Material Handler – Golden Plant
Position Overview:
As a Material Handler, you’ll be part of a production crew and report to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. Your role is to support the success of Ball in a high‑volume, fast‑paced 24/7 manufacturing environment, following all operating principles, equipment procedures and SOPs for your area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow 5S standards and all job safety practices and policies, including food safety, personal protective equipment and emergency procedures.
Operate forklift and coordinate movement of raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals and other supplies.
Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers and customers.
Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
Build positive relationships across the team by collaborating, communicating and upholding ethical integrity.
Required Experience & Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
3+ years of forklift operation and maintenance.
Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management.
Experience using JD Edwards, AS900 or a similar warehouse/ERP system.
Physical Environment & Working Conditions:
May be subject to hot or cold working conditions.
Exposure to loud or noisy environments.
Requirement to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Climbing (stairs, catwalks and other equipment) as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hiring Hourly Rate: $27.37.
Eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
