Overview
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Driver to join our growing team. This position reports to the Dispatchers / Transportation Managers. Commercial Driver may haul a variety of materials including mulches, soils, or aggregates. Class B CDL drivers may operate a roll-off truck or smaller grade commercial truck and will deliver product as well as haul brush material or trash utilizing steel containers. We expect drivers to operate our trucks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeanor when engaging with customers and coworkers. A successful candidate will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed. Perform pre/post trip inspections, comply with state/federal hours of service requirements, and operate the vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations. Safely and efficiently transport product or equipment (if an equipment hauler) as directed to/from job locations and in accordance with all laws, regulations, etc. Complete basic daily service on vehicle to include cleaning radiator/filters and cleaning the vehicle interior. Complete all necessary paperwork correctly and submit it daily. Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity. Follow all standard operating procedures and processes. Safety gear is required and expected to be worn at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, and gloves). Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management. Qualifications & Physical Requirements
Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required, depending on position sought. Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed). Equipment hauling; tractor trailer, live-floor trailer, end dump, flatbed, and roll-off experience preferred. Forklift/Spyder experience is preferred for flatbed operators. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must pass a drug screen. Must pass a DOT physical. Occasionally be able to push and pull trailer doors weighing approximately 40lbs. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods. Must be able to climb into and out of tractor / truck several times per day using 3 points of contact. Must be able to use hand and arms to steer and to finger controls and adjust controls as needed inside and outside of tractor. Must be able to bend, stoop, and crawl in order to perform a full inspection of the truck and trailer (including tire inspection). Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all weather. Must be able to see and hear proficiently to operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe manner. Must be able to frequently use arms overhead for multiple job functions to include tossing ropes or tie down straps using an overhead motion. Must be able to depress clutch and hold in position for 2 full minutes. Must be able to pull up a rope to 40lbs of resistance using arms only. Must be able to work in a dusty environment (tolerate various types of work dust). CDL drivers with less than one year of CDL experience must provide a copy of an entry-level driver training certificate from an FMCSA-approved driver training school. Benefits
