Job Summary The Material Handler supports machine shop and production operations by efficiently moving, organizing, packaging, and shipping materials. This role ensures that employees and equipment have the necessary parts and supplies to maintain continuous workflow while also managing outbound shipments and proper packaging of finished goods.

Material Movement

Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods between workstations, storage areas, and shipping/receiving.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.

Inventory & Staging

Stage parts and materials for upcoming jobs to minimize downtime.

Monitor and replenish consumables such as cutting tools, lubricants, and shop supplies.

Packaging & Shipping

Prepare finished parts for shipment, including proper packaging to prevent damage.

Create and apply shipping labels and documentation.

Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.

Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.

Shop Support

Assist with chip removal and coolant recycling.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor.

Documentation & Communication

Record material movements accurately in inventory systems.

Communicate with supervisors to prioritize tasks and resolve material shortages.

Communication

Having good written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have positive attitude and a willingness to assist the team.

Organization

Having a strong sense of time organization and urgency.

Teamwork

Being able to work independently and within a team and assist the NDT department as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred.

Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physical ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
