2nd Shift Structural Material Handler
Daifuku – Opening on Second Shift (Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM)
Position Summary The Structural Material Handler ships finished goods in good condition according to SOP.
Responsibilities
Banding and strapping product to skids, ensuring secure packaging.
Loading and unloading materials onto and off trucks.
Operating industrial trucks, sit‑down forklift, stand‑up forklift, and cranes.
Building skids/crates (some carpentry required).
Banding I‑beams and columns in bundles and loading them on flatbed trailers.
Using computer skills when staging products for shipping and loading.
Unloading pallet trucks and organizing pallet area outside.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Complying with all Daifuku QMS policies and procedures.
Ensuring sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licensed forklift truck operator.
Experience with inventory & shipping (plus).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
Good computer skills.
Good verbal communication skills.
Good organization skills.
Good time management skills.
Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented.
Ability to read and write English and use basic math.
Ability to build relationships with co‑workers.
Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
Ability to complete assigned training in a timely manner.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
ADA Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly.
Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing upright on feet for sustained periods.
Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
Lifting, raising objects, moving horizontally; substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering, picking, pinching, typing primarily with fingers.
Grasping, applying pressure to object with fingers/palm.
Talking, expressing ideas via spoken word; delivering instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, receiving detailed oral information.
Repetitive motions: substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Visual Acuity
Required to perform detailed data analysis, transcribing, vision of computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small parts, operation of machines, use of measurement devices, and/or assembly at close distances.
Required to operate motor vehicles.
Required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work, and make general observations of facilities.
Job Conditions
Work inside and outside, subject to temperature changes.
Exposure to hazards including moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, high places, high heat, chemicals.
Salary: USD $16.00 – $20.00 per hour.
