Your Role We are seeking an Intermediate-level Microbiology Lab Quality Control Technician to support the preparation and execution of microbiological testing for biopharmaceutical filtration membranes. This role is responsible for media preparation, equipment sterilization, and test device set‑up, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. The position supports intermediate-level testing operations through basic troubleshooting of test set‑ups and retention testing processes and requires a foundational working knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This is a D shift position from Saturday‑Monday 6 AM‑6 PM.
Duties
Prepare media, sterilize equipment, and set up test devices in compliance with SOPs, GMP, and safety standards.
Safely operate quality lab equipment and monitor required inputs and outputs.
Support lab operations and projects under senior technician supervision.
Complete and review documentation accurately per GMP requirements.
Initiate and participate in OOS investigations.
Assist with protocols, qualifications, validations, and sustainability efforts.
Perform basic troubleshooting and develop skills for independent media preparation.
Maintain a clean workspace and proactively identify and report safety, quality, and productivity concerns.
Physical Attributes
Exposure to machinery and equipment, chemical reagents, biological materials at Biosafety Levels 1 and 2, in a laboratory environment.
100 % standing and/or sitting for the duration of a shift, up to 12 hours.
Frequent lifting of 20–30 lbs. Required/Maximum lifting – 40 to 50 lbs.
Bending and twisting as needed.
Grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly; fine motor skills are required.
Who You Are Minimum Qualifications
1+ year of laboratory or cGMP manufacturing experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a discipline.
2+ years of laboratory or cGMP manufacturing experience.
Aseptic laboratory experience.
Basic knowledge of EHS, ISO, cGMP, and other manufacturing regulatory requirements.
Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Reliable and self‑motivated.
Read, follow and understand test methods, operating procedures, and related documentation.
Pay Range: $19–$30 per hour. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
