Position Overview Payscale: $21.70 per hour, with a potential quarterly goal‑sharing program. The 1st Shift runs Monday‑Friday 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM, with overtime as business needs require.
What This Looks Like • 1st Shift Starting Pay: $21.70/hour
• Schedule: Monday‑Friday 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM, overtime as business needs require.
As a Welder at Caterpillar you will
Use various tools, including robotic and manual MIG weld machines.
Inspect own work, performing quality checks with weld and attribute gauges and other measuring tools.
Perform in‑station repair on defective welds using carbon air‑arc process, grinders, etc.
Clear common robotic welding system faults.
Lift heavy components (up to 35 lbs) to position fabricated metal parts in weld fixtures.
Perform routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change).
Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe, defect‑free operations.
Apply CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Be responsible for process and final inspections.
What you will need
Welding operation experience.
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to perform repetitive operations.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Top candidates will also have
Blueprint reading experience.
Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Team player, multi‑trained.
Effective communication skills.
