Job Overview GE Vernova is accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. The Assembler Apprentice Program offers a 1‑year opportunity that blends academic coursework with hands‑on training to develop the skills needed to become a skilled Assembler with GE Power.
Program Summary
1-year program (registered with the Department of Labor) combining on‑the‑job training and coursework through a local community college.
On‑the‑job training based in Turbine Assembly or Rotor Assembly/Rotor Repair Cells, with shadowing opportunities outside the assigned cell.
Apprentices are paid for training.
Tuition, fees, and books covered by grants, scholarship funding, or GE tuition reimbursement benefits.
Mentoring, teamwork, and ongoing performance reviews.
Training in safety, basic measurements, tooling, assembly, print reading, and other manufacturing processes.
Successful completion earns a GE Vernova Gas Turbine Assembly Technician Certificate.
What You’ll Do
Gain hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Develop understanding of tooling, assembly, and operation of heavy‑frame gas turbines.
Participate in coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement projects (5S, Kaizen, Lean).
Contribute to team activities for Human Resources and Problem Solving.
Demonstrate measurable impact on production processes.
What You’ll Bring
Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Minimum average grade “C” or higher on all coursework.
Team‑player attitude with ability to work closely with apprentices and trainers.
Eagerness to learn and adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Applicable manufacturing or mechanical/electrical experience (preferred).
Eligibility / Qualifications
Pass extensive interview process.
Pass all assessments.
Work normal operating hours (1st shift 6:45‑2:45, 2nd shift 2:45‑10:45, 3rd shift 10:45‑6:45). Apprentices typically work 1st shift during the year.
Availability for overtime or weekend shifts as required by business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate The pay for this position is $26.71 per hour. After graduating the, the position is eligible for shift premium on off‑shift work (2nd or 3rd shift) plus $1.00 USD per hour on top of base pay.
