Overview The Field Service Mechanic reports to our main office in Commerce Township, and is often dispatched to our job locations, which can be found all over the state of Michigan.

Responsibilities

Performing routine heavy truck and equipment maintenance and inspections

Servicing a variety of vehicles and equipment, including semis and medium-duty trucks, trailers, excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, generators, air compressors, and specialty equipment

Troubleshooting and making general repairs

Operating a variety of hand and power tools

Possess a chauffeur’s license, and be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) within 1 year of employment

Working outdoors in all weather conditions; including but not limited to, snow, rain and varying temperatures

Working at heights with the use of mobile equipment and ladders

Frequently required to stand, use hands to hold hand and power tools, finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. Occasionally, the work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Working safely near and around highway traffic and noisy operations

Ability to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs
