Job Title: Welder
As a Welder, you will engage in tac/mig welding within a production welding and processing atmosphere. You will perform tasks such as plate to plate, block to plate, butt joint, stitch welding, pipe welding, and square block welding for brackets and components for a large equipment company. Occasionally, you may be required to operate a press brake, assist on the paint line, perform powder coating, and engage in assembly tasks.
Responsibilities
Perform tac/mig welding on various components and brackets.
Grinding responsibilities.
Execute plate to plate, block to plate, butt joint, stitch welding, pipe welding, and square block welding.
Operate additional machinery such as a press brake.
Assist in the paint line and perform powder coating.
Engage in assembly tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Familiarity with grinding, fabrication, and using a tape measure.
Experience working with stainless steel and mild steel ranging from 20 gauge to 1 inch.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Flexibility and openness to perform tasks beyond welding.
Ability to work independently and maintain a growth mindset.
Strong attendance record.
Certification in welding is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to produce clean and precise welds.
Work Environment Work in a mid-size, 30-person fabrication shop equipped with paint, press brake, welding, and assembly processes. The company is expanding, having added 6-7 new customers in 2024. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential for early start, late finish, or Saturday shifts based on business needs. Enjoy paid breaks and a 20-minute paid lunch. The facility includes production welding bays across two buildings.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dunlap, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00/hr.
