The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Allegan seeking experienced Setup Technicians. Key Responsibilities
Perform machine setup and changeovers according to production schedules and specifications.
Install, adjust, and calibrate tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
Conduct first-piece inspections and obtain quality approval before production runs.
Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues to ensure optimal machine performance.
Optimize machine parameters and processes to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Document setup procedures, parameters, and tooling specifications accurately.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams on process improvements and new product introductions.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in machine setup, changeover, and adjustment within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards, quality control procedures, and preventative maintenance practices.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with PLC programming or HMI interfaces.
Experience with manual machining (lathe, mill) for fixture creation or modification.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling and fixture design.
