What we’re looking for
We're looking for an experienced Manual Lathes operator for 1st shift. Hours can be flexible but typical hours are 7 am - 3 pm. We will accept full or part time. This role is responsible for: Study blueprints, layouts/charts, and routings for information on specifications and tooling instructions, and to determine material requirements and operational sequences & specifications. Set up and operate a manual lathe to produce precision parts with tight tolerances. Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. Must be able to select suitable tools and inserts and cutters, according to written specifications and shop mathematics. Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to work pieces. Experience and Education
High School diploma is required. Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, basic geometry, statistics and their applications. Prefer 3+ years of work experience as a manual lathe machinist. Physical Functions
Standing 90% to 100% (set up and operate metal working machinery) Programming Machinery 0% to 10% Sitting 0% to 10% Walking 5% to 15% Fine Hand Motor Skills 75% to 100% Lifting 10-20 lbs frequently; 21-50 lbs usually; 51+ lbs occasionally (lifting equipment available) What We Offer
