Plant Compressor Mechanic role at Diversified Energy Company.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Respond to problems by troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, repairing/adjusting equipment as needed, conferring with co‑workers and supervisors for advice and other techniques.
Determine the most cost‑effective, timely and efficient method for repairs.
Perform proper preventative maintenance, repair and maintain the equipment using hand tools and power tools in a safe manner.
Maintain troubleshooting, replacement, repair parts for compressors, pumps and engines.
Use hand tools to clean, lubricate, adjust equipment, replace filters, gaskets and other items while identifying what kind of maintenance is needed.
Comprehend and retain new policies, procedures, and methods/techniques used in the office and field, being flexible to work in a changing environment.
Show progress/advancement in skill level and application of knowledge.
Have working knowledge of pneumatic starter systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition systems and other compression related anatomy.
Be familiar with troubleshooting and repairing natural gas compressors and engines.
Assist Field Service Crews with equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.
Be familiar with gearboxes (reducers and multipliers).
Be familiar with pump operations (vertical, horizontal, Ghoulds and Dresser Rand).
Be familiar with laser alignment procedures.
Overhaul engines, compressors and related components as needed.
Communicate information effectively with all levels of co‑workers by telephone, written form, e‑mail or in person.
Position Requirements
Understand the basic operations of production equipment such as compressors, pumps, etc.
Work independently as well as in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
Teach others skills in an effective and cooperative manner.
Prioritize and utilize time‑management skills.
Have experience with modern engines and compressors used in the natural gas industry.
Have mechanical experience on pumps, engines and compressors.
Be able to work in an H2S environment.
Be available for call‑outs (evenings/nights, weekends and holidays) as shifts require.
Willingly work overtime as needed/required.
Accept direction from supervisors and senior team members.
Hold a current valid driver’s license.
Live within 1 hour of plant site (Jay, Florida).
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum Qualifications
HS diploma or GED equivalent, valid driver’s license.
3 to 5 years experience in natural gas compressor maintenance or related field.
Previous experience in oil and gas plant preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot, rebuild and align a variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes, natural gas compressors (gas‑driven and electric‑driven).
Basic knowledge of different types and styles of bearings.
Perform medium to heavy physical work, familiar with basic OSHA safety procedures, able to work under pressure, within a team environment and with little supervision.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Move or traverse between locations on the job site, including standing for extended periods and frequently stooping, kneeling, or squatting.
Detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively.
Operate a 4X4 vehicle.
Repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back; constantly use hands and fingers during work.
Work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights.
Lift or carry 105 lbs. or more.
Frequently push and pull with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
Operate in outdoor weather conditions and varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions, performing tasks in a physically demanding environment.

Driver Requirements
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
Operate a company vehicle for work‑related travel or receive a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adhere to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
