Survey Field Technician - Entry-Level/Rod Person

We’re looking for an entry‑level Survey Field Technician to join our Tampa office in the Survey/Geomatics division. You’ll gain hands‑on training and work outdoors.

Primary Responsibilities:
Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies needed throughout the day.
Transport, set up, and prepare the job site for the survey.
Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
Hold the prism pole steady to assist the surveyor in determining elevations of different points.
Measure distances between points using tape or electronic equipment; help with various pieces of survey equipment.
Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment.
Operate the surveying equipment under the supervisor’s oversight.
What you'll need:
High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Ability to travel; some overnight travel may be required.
Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines (machete use).
Adequate knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for various types of work.
Ability to hold and use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
