Banner Health invites qualified candidates to join our team in Tucson, Arizona, where we are committed to transforming healthcare experience and improving patient outcomes. This role focuses on initial case management within a community behavioral health setting.

Position Summary As a first point of contact for members, you will provide essential initial case management services, conduct timely and accurate behavioral health evaluations, and establish provisional behavioral health diagnoses. You will also develop initial treatment plans based on thorough assessments to set the foundation for each member’s recovery journey.

Core Functions

Respond to urgent engagement requests within the Crisis Response Center and other community settings to complete intake assessments.

Complete AHCCCS and Healthcare Marketplace screenings as needed.

Follow up with care coordination to ensure appropriate first appointments are scheduled.

Complete progress notes, other patient record documents, and write comprehensive and timely reports/assessments in accordance with agency and funding source guidelines.

Assist in coordinating and planning out‑of‑home placements and discharges.

Accurately read, record, and interpret information, including assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria.

Complete all required training by licensing, agency, and funding source or as requested by supervisor and participate in individual and team clinical supervision.

Work independently in the community, consulting with a supervisor for routine staffing guidance and weekly supervision for additional support.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent; 18 credit hours of post‑high school education in a field related to behavioral health completed no more than four years before the start date; and two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience, or four years of full‑time behavioral work experience.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a behavioral health clinical setting serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain it, and sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of full‑time behavioral health experience, or Associate’s degree and at least two years of full‑time behavioral health work experience.
