Furnace Maintenance Technician 1st shift Monday- Friday 6am - 2:30pm

The Position:
The furnace technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and cleaning furnaces used in both the permanent mold and sand mold departments. Duties may involve skills in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electronics, masonry, welding, and fabrication. Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate flux injection machines to clean furnaces. Perform hand fluxing, raking out, and skimming of furnaces-work involves exposure to hot and smoky conditions. Use jackhammers and chipping guns to tear out and repair furnaces. Operate forklifts, man-lifts, welders, torches, and both powered and non-powered hand tools. Fabricate metal components for furnace maintenance and repair. Weld furnace covers and related tools. Operate forklift to remove slag and load it onto trailers. Prepare and fill furnaces as needed to ensure readiness for start-up. Training and guiding others on furnace operations, demolition robots, and furnace testing equipment. Additional Responsibilities:
Under supervision, safely performs both routine and complex maintenance tasks to clean, repair, and sustain a variety of furnaces throughout the facility. Must be able to interpret written and digital work orders, troubleshoot issues, and make recommendations for ongoing repair needs. Functional Requirements
Consistently able to: Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks Push/pull up to 100 lbs. See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality Read and understand written English language work instructions Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI Protective Footwear Hearing Protection Protective Eyewear Gloves Additional PPE may as required by specific tasks Industry Leading Benefits:
