Starting pay rate $36.25 per hour + $2.00 per hour shift differential for night shift

SUMMARY Westlake Royal Building Products, a vinyl siding manufacturer in Columbus OH, has a full‑time opening for a Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for the preventative and routine maintenance functions for all extrusion equipment and support systems in all manufacturing facilities.
This schedule for this position would be one of the following;
Sunday‑Tuesday and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00am
Wednesday‑Friday and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Good understanding of PC’s and PLC troubleshooting
Installing new plant equipment
Able to document changes, equipment modifications, and new installations
Ability to plan work that requires knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles to effectively accomplish assigned work with minimal interruption to production
Practice a predictive/preventative approach to electrical and mechanical maintenance issues
Develop working mechanical and electrical knowledge of material conveying, process water, chilled water, and compressed air systems that support the production process. Includes proficiency at PMs and the rebuilding of equipment components
Set up barrels and screws on extruders
Set up all equipment for production runs
Ability to effectively accomplish assigned work with minimum supervision
Install power requirements for equipment modifications and installations
Comply with company policies for software updating, filing, and archiving of PLC/PC applications
Knowledge and experience with CMMS programs
Comply with established safety rules and company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of five years electrical and mechanical experience in maintenance technician role
Experience with blending and extrusion equipment preferred
Electrical and Mechanical background; 3 phase, 480v power experience required
Familiarity with PC and PLC equipment
Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
Knowledge of 5S and lean principles
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to cover 2 facilities (North & South Plant) is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position works in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building, although maintained, can be affected by outside weather conditions.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
