Job Title
Audiovisual Operator
Summary Provides audiovisual support for special and live events across campus including technical and personal support for sound reinforcement, video recording, image projection and lighting systems.
Responsibilities
Provide audiovisual support for special and live events across campus including technical and personal support for sound reinforcement, video recording, image projection and lighting systems.
Operate audio consoles, PA systems, video cameras, projectors and other AV equipment, including loading/unloading transportation of equipment in university‑owned vehicles.
Support classroom special events as needed to enhance the student/faculty experience.
Conduct site inspections and determine best location for equipment based on client needs, equipment performance needs, power requirements, safety considerations, etc.
Deliver and/or operate ITS‑owned AV equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on all AV equipment.
Repair AV equipment on the spot as needed to ensure classroom/live event production schedules are not interrupted.
Minimum Education and Experience Must have knowledge of basic operation of audiovisual equipment and basic knowledge of computer systems, proficiency in Windows and/or OS/X, able to connect a computer/laptop to a projector and connect to wireless networks. Preferred: high school diploma, some higher education preferred, and one year of experience in the audiovisual industry.
Compensation $15—$16 per hour depending on experience.
Special Instructions Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31‑day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
