Employment Specialist/Job Coach - Forest City
We are seeking Employment Specialists/Job Coaches to assist people with disabilities in obtaining employment and providing on‑the‑job training in Rutherford and surrounding counties. Candidates should have exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking, problem solving, compassion and patience.
Responsibilities
Work closely with individuals to identify vocational interests and abilities, create resumes, search, apply and obtain jobs, learn job tasks and retain employment.
Communicate to understand individual goals and ambitions.
Support individuals in matching jobs with their strengths, abilities and interests.
Develop and implement effective employment and training plans.
Assist individuals in discovering and overcoming barriers.
Network, communicate and engage with local businesses.
Guide persons served in learning to complete job duties.
Advocate for workplace accommodations.
Provide documentation and prepare appropriate reports.
Requirements
A degree in Human Services or a Business‑related field is preferred.
Job Coaching experience is preferred.
Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
Flexible schedule – some evenings, nights and weekends may be required during job training.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
