Summary / Function Independent performance of a variety of secretarial or administrative duties involved in the operation of the office. Applies policies and procedures, processes information and materials, and maintains records and correspondence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Front office receptionist duties

Liaison between parents and school staff

Maintaining working knowledge of PowerSchool

Student attendance and truancy processing

Discipline data entry

Coordinating mailroom operations

Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications Education & Experience High‑school graduate or equivalent. Secretarial or clerical experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate’s degree preferred.

Knowledge Excellent written and verbal communication; organizational skills; knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and operations; knowledge of office management principles; familiarity with required records and forms.

Skills / Effort Proficiency with technology (websites, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, digital photography); excellent written and verbal communication; telephone skills; ability to interpret detailed instructions.

Language Skills Read, write, and speak routine reports and correspondence in Standard English.

Mathematical Skills Perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables.

Other Skills and Abilities Pass basic skills and technology proficiency tests; establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community; perform duties in awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions Stand, walk, sit at a desk, squat, stoop, kneel, reach above head and forward. Requires close, color, peripheral, and depth vision; adjust focus. Work is indoors; low noise level; no travel required; lift/move up to 10 lbs.

Responsibility No supervisory responsibility.
