As a Service Technician you will provide mechanical repairs to washers and dryers at customer locations within your assigned region. You will keep our machines running smoothly to meet customer expectations and prevent repeated service needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently and has a strong mechanical aptitude.
What You’ll Do
Perform field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers
Use test equipment to determine machine condition
Examine machines during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts
Disassemble machine and examine mechanical and electrical parts
Replace worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring
Replace and adjust motors
Reassemble appliance, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts
Advise dispatch department of equipment in the field that should be replaced
Drive a company vehicle to and from work locations and maintain its fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness
Maintain stocks of replacement parts for servicing coin-operated washers and dryers
Contact apartment managers and customers to ensure good customer relations
What We’re Looking For
Good driving record
Strong customer service and problem‑solving skills
Effective English communication skills (oral and written); bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable
At least two years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck
Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable
