Part-Time Document Scanning Operator

Position Summary
The Document Scanning Operator (Document Imaging Technician) is responsible for accurately scanning high volumes of printed material and converting them into digital images. This role performs a variety of clerical and production tasks requiring moderate knowledge of systems and procedures. The ideal candidate relies on experience, attention to detail, and sound judgment to meet goals and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare documents by removing staples, clips, bindings, and other physical obstructions.
Prepare approximately 10 boxes per month for scan‑by‑box projects.
Operate image scanners to digitize original documents.
Verify scanning specifications to ensure accuracy and quality compliance.
Set scanner parameters according to job requirements and customer specifications.
Perform daily scanner maintenance, including cleaning, to ensure optimal image quality; conduct routine equipment maintenance as needed.
Log document numbers automatically assigned during scanning for future retrieval.
Enter information into MS Word, MS Excel, or other departmental systems to prepare documents or reports.
Review all scanned images for proper sizing, resolution, and overall quality.
Photocopy documents as needed.
Box records for shipment and lift boxes up to 35 pounds.
Maintain an organized, clean, and high‑quality work environment.
Assist team members with document preparation tasks.
Follow organizational and departmental procedures to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
