Helps to load and unload shipping containers, and participates in general warehouse work and operations. Occasionally picks up and delivers product locally to customers throughout the local area using a box truck. Driver is also responsible for working with the warehouse manager to pull orders, maintain warehouse organization and load the delivery truck.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Making local deliveries
Pulling orders from the warehouse
Maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness
Checking, packing, and counting orders
Unloading/loading box truck and occasionally receiving in semi-trucks
Shipping UPS
Operates forklift or uses pallet jack to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping area onto truck
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 1) Valid Driver’s License 2) Ability to pass DOT physical
Physical Demands While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to sit for periods of time while making deliveries and driving. The employee frequently is required to hear or talk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. May be required to have color vision.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
