EPTDESIGN is seeking talented, design-oriented candidates with 0‑2 years of experience in landscape architecture.

Position Summary The Designer supports project teams in the planning, design, and documentation of landscape architecture projects across a range of project types. This entry‑level role focuses on design production, collaboration, and learning within a fast‑paced studio environment. This exempt role requires regular exercise of independent discretion and control in carrying out responsibilities.

General Qualifications

Can operate in a professional office environment

BSLA, BLA or MLA required

Proficient software skills:

Expected Performance

Assist in the preparation of conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document packages across a range of project types.

Produce CAD and hand drawings of design elements based on direction from project leads.

Collaborate with project teams to support idea generation and design development in a collaborative studio environment.

Regularly and effectively communicate and update project leads on task progress to support an efficient workflow and provide opportunities for mentorship.

Work within EPTDESIGN’s standards and processes to support efficient project delivery.

Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work products.

Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Completes other duties as required to support the team and the organization’s goals.

Exercises independent discretion and control in prioritizing work, making operational decisions, and determining appropriate courses of action.

Professional Skills

Working knowledge of landscape architectural design and ability to prepare deliverables with guidance.

Understanding basic design principles, technical skills, and methods relevant to landscape architecture.

Proficient in CAD and 3D modeling of common landscape design components with the ability to produce consistent and accurate drawings.

Strong graphic, written, and communication skills that support EPTDESIGN’s growth.

Demonstrates ability to use independent discretion and judgment in a fast‑moving environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment such as a printer, telephone, copy machine.

Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists (e.g., typing, mouse use, writing, drawing).

Ability to safely navigate active construction sites.

Visual acuity to read printed materials, plans, and computer screens.

Frequent communication with staff and clients; must be able to exchange accurate information clearly via email, telephone, and verbally.

Ability to lift and carry materials or packages up to 20 pounds.

Ability to maintain focus in an open office environment with moderate noise levels.

Access to reliable transportation to commute to the office and for occasional travel to job sites, client meetings, or other office locations.
