QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST & PRODUCT LABELING SUPERVISOR – OAK CREEK, WI
Compass Group USA (Canteen) is searching for a qualified candidate to join our team at Fresh & Ready Foods in Oak Creek, WI. The role focuses on ensuring Food Safety and Quality Assurance across the plant, leading a team of QA technicians, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Oversee Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs within the plant.
Conduct routine sanitation checks, ensuring HACCP and USDA regulations are strictly enforced.
Provide technical support to QA Technicians on FS/QA matters and corrective actions.
Directly supervise QA Technicians and create schedules.
Handle routine Food Quality Program/SQF tasks.
Collaborate with the QA Manager to develop, write, and implement SOPs and drive continuous improvement.
Lead or assist in internal investigations into quality and food safety issues.
Perform monthly facility inspections.
Support investigation of customer complaints.
Provide hands‑on training in Food Safety, Quality Control, and QA activities, and personnel safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Progressive experience implementing or maintaining an SQF system.
Preferable experience in a fresh food processing environment and a strong commitment to food safety culture.
Technical knowledge of Food Safety and regulatory requirements.
3+ years of Food Safety and Quality experience in a food manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience.
Track record of successful implementation and monitoring of critical Food Safety and Quality systems; high attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of USDA, FDA, HACCP certification; SQF Practitioner and/or PCQI certification are a plus.
Seafood HACCP certification desirable.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with all managerial and employee levels; Spanish communication desirable.
Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and creative, innovative approaches to complex problems.
Team building and leadership skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize based on business needs and risk.
Experience in allergen management.
Knowledge of chemical safety and food industry sanitation procedures.
Computer skills: Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.; able to stand, walk, push, pull, and work in a refrigerated environment (32°F–38°F).
