Job Type Full‑time

Description Medical Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and educating customers in the use of home medical equipment. Setup is performed at the customer’s home, in long‑term care settings, clinics, or other appropriate locations.

Job Duties

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current HME products and services and applicable governmental regulations.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Educate customers on proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.

Complete required documentation following equipment setup, delivery, or pickups.

Assist customers with equipment problems under emergency conditions.

Process all orders accurately and in a timely manner.

Promote services and products to referral sources in the community as appropriate.

Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and document all necessary information to secure reimbursement for equipment and services.

Assist with implementing quality‑improvement programs to meet company policies.

Maintain home oxygen systems through regularly scheduled visits.

Safely drive and maintain a company vehicle.

Perform patient assessment and re‑assessment for patient care.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company policies.

Report equipment hazards and product incidents as required by company policies and procedures.

Assume on‑call responsibilities during non‑business hours per company policy.

Follow procedures for the use of PPE, infection control, and hazardous‑materials handling.

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.

Maintain compliance with AdaptHealth’s compliance program.

Clean equipment when assigned or during downtime, following branch maintenance and cleaning guidelines.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Entry‑level sales or customer‑service background (essential).

One year of military experience, delivery-driving with sales component, or health‑care technician experience (preferred).

Senior‑level candidates should have at least two years of work‑related experience and one year in the exact job role.

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment and supplies; stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch.

Performs long periods of sitting and driving.

Work environment may be stressful as activities and workload fluctuate.

Potential exposure to unsanitary conditions, hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme temperatures, and infectious pathogens.

May operate in high‑crime areas within the service community.

Must drive independently and travel as needed.

May encounter angry or irate customers.

Must access patient residences without assistance.

Mental alertness to perform essential functions.

Communicate verbally and in writing effectively with customers, demonstrating empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.

Salary Description: $18–$23 per hour (DOE).
