Practice Manager
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-4:45 PM (approximately 40 hours per week)
General Job Purpose The Practice Manager provides leadership and accountability for all operational aspects of the practice, including patient-centered clinical operations, human resources, information systems, quality assurance, and financial management. This role oversees daily practice operations, ensures operational excellence, and supports a positive culture focused on high-quality patient care and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities Financial & Business Operations Develop, propose, and manage operational budgets
Maintain financial literacy related to patient care and industry trends
Oversee inventory control and responsible management of facility assets
Ensure compliance with all financial policies and procedures
Coordinate accounts receivable activities with the Billing Department as needed
Human Resources Management Ensure accurate employee timekeeping and timely approvals
Interview, hire, onboard, and orient new employees
Support effective staffing and employee engagement
Recognize staff and provider achievements using formal and informal tools
Information & Compliance Management Effectively utilize electronic health records and billing systems
Ensure accurate coding and compliant registration practices
Conduct and participate in audits to minimize organizational risk
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all health information privacy laws
Leadership & Communication Provide consistent, effective operational leadership
Foster a positive culture and strong physician relationships
Communicate professionally through written, verbal, and electronic channels
Build collaborative relationships across the organization
Clinical & Patient Care Management Promote exceptional patient experiences and service recovery
Optimize ophthalmology workflows for efficient patient flow
Support quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics
Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and procedures
Facility & Safety Management Promote safety and security through regular inspections
Participate in emergency preparedness training and drills
Ensure staff awareness of workplace hazards and MSDS requirements
Growth, Marketing & Innovation Evaluate and support innovations in patient care delivery
Lead and participate in marketing and community outreach initiatives
Promote positive public relations and organizational reputation
Qualifications & Experience Required / Preferred Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of five years of operational management experience in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement, fiscal and HR management
Ophthalmology or healthcare experience preferred
Skills & Attributes Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Strong leadership, time-management, and multitasking abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and customer-service mindset
Dependable with early morning availability
