Cosmetics Designer Product Category Manager and Production Coordinator
Sprayground is seeking a highly experienced Cosmetics Designer and Product Category Manager who will also serve as a Production Coordinator to help build and launch a complete cosmetics and beauty line from the ground up.
This role will lead the creative direction of the cosmetics category while working collaboratively with internal designers, external partners, and production teams. You will guide the overall vision, aesthetic, and experience while contributing hands‑on to design and development.
The ideal candidate understands beauty as both design and experience and has real‑world experience bringing cosmetic products to market at a high level.
Key Responsibilities Creative Direction and Design Leadership
Lead the creative direction for cosmetics in collaboration with internal and external design teams.
Work closely with other designers to develop packaging, form factors, color stories, and user experience.
Ensure a cohesive and elevated design language across all cosmetic products.
Collaborate with formulators and labs to align product performance with brand positioning.
Help shape concepts across makeup, skincare, grooming, or hybrid beauty categories.
Ensure every product delivers a strong visual, tactile, and usage experience.
Product Category Management
Own the cosmetics category roadmap in partnership with leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Define product assortment, pricing tiers, and margin targets.
Research global beauty trends, ingredients, packaging innovations, and competitor brands.
Ensure the line is cohesive, scalable, and commercially viable.
Support sales and marketing teams with product knowledge and positioning.
Production and Development Coordination
Coordinate product development timelines from sampling through mass production.
Work with factories, labs, packaging vendors, and suppliers.
Review samples, manage revisions, and support quality‑control standards.
Ensure compliance with cosmetic regulations across US, EU and global markets.
Track costs, minimums, and schedules to support on‑time launches.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in cosmetics or beauty product development.
Experience leading creative direction in a collaborative team environment.
Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation and lab workflows.
Proven experience managing production and vendor relationships.
Background in product management or category leadership.
Knowledge of global cosmetic compliance and safety standards.
Strong aesthetic sensibility with commercial awareness.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
