With over 130 years of rich history, Martin Estate winery and vineyard produces ultra‑premium Cabernet Sauvignons that are estate grown, produced, and bottled, sourced solely from the Rutherford Estate. The historic winery dates back to 1887 and remains one of the few pre‑prohibition châteaux in the Napa Valley. Not open to the general public, exclusive and limited private tastings are available only by prior appointment to prospective clients and existing members.

We are looking for a dynamic Sales Ambassador to join our team and share our passion with others. This role provides a unique opportunity for future growth.

Position Overview As an Estate Sales Ambassador, you will represent Martin Estate’s winery and brand, engaging with customers and sharing the unique qualities of our limited‑production wines. You will host tastings, conduct direct sales to consumers, and build lasting relationships with our clientele. Success is measured by how effectively you enhance guest experiences and drive membership and sales conversions.

Key Responsibilities

Host Private Wine Tastings: Lead engaging and informative tastings, highlighting Martin Estate wines and their unique characteristics.

Direct Sales: Actively promote and sell wines during tastings and events.

Customer Engagement: Build relationships, listen to preferences, and provide personalized recommendations. Educate customers about wine production, varietals, and history.

Inventory Management and Logistics: Maintain inventory levels and ensure a well‑organized tasting room experience.

Team Player: Support events, packing wine, logistics, and other duties as needed; be coachable and proactive.

Networking and Outreach: Stay connected with Napa Valley concierges at fine hotels, resorts, and transportation companies.

Event Participation: Assist in planning and executing winery events, including special tastings and private engagements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Educate yourself on Martin Estate wines and history.

Take ownership of the entire guest experience.

Build and maintain a growing client roster of Martin Estate enthusiasts.

Convert guests into Members and visits into sales.

Act with integrity and transparency in all sales transactions.

Track wine and retail inventory.

Perform daily and monthly estate cleaning and side‑work duties.

Maintain a professional and positive appearance and demeanor at all times.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Passion for wine and knowledge of winemaking processes, particularly limited‑production and luxury sales.

2–4 years of college/university education or equivalent.

2+ years in a luxury hospitality or sales setting (winery, restaurant, hotel, etc.).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS/CRM systems.

Willingness and availability to work most weekends, holidays, and special events.

Team‑oriented mindset for shared duties, sales goals, and objectives.

Initiative, drive, and ability to work independently.

Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety regulations and operating procedures.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Must be over 21 years of age.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Full body mobility: walk, stand, kneel, lift, and carry for long periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Exceptional communication skills in verbal, written, and body language.

Professional presentation and English proficiency at a college level.

Capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a high‑demand environment.
