UPS Picker/Packer
The UPS Picker/Packer is responsible for ensuring all parcel packages processed through the UPS/small parcel area are accurately picked, packed, and shipped without damage, while maintaining both time and cost efficiency. This role requires operating equipment safely, following established processes, and supporting overall shipping and distribution goals.
Hours of Work:
- 1st Shift: 5:30 AM 2:00 PM (overtime: 3:30 AM 2:00 PM)
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM 11:30 PM (overtime: 2:30 PM 1:00 AM)
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform order picking, pack slipping, packing, manifesting, and loading.
- Report any quality variances or product discrepancies.
- Operate all necessary equipment in the small parcel/UPS work area.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Lift cartons or products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand for 812 hours per day.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment.
- Strong attendance record with regular and predictable reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
- Ability to interact constructively and effectively with team members.
- Flexibility to adapt to change and perform other tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access) and internet navigation.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including RF use and user interface.
- Experience with third-party carrier systems such as UPS Worldship and FedEx online shipping.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Proven attention to detail in shipping/packing accuracy.
