Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Step-Down Unit specializing in cardiac and acute care patients. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care for Step-Down patients, maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio Manage cardiac drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin Monitor and support patients requiring BIPAP, CPAP, High Flow oxygen, and chest tube management Perform bedside cardioversions as needed with Cath Lab collaboration for patient recovery Conduct thorough documentation using Expanse electronic medical records Participate in mandatory bedside shift reports and shift huddles for all patients Adhere to unit policies, including punctual attendance and dress code of navy blue or white scrubs Qualifications and Experience Current RN license with demonstrated Step-Down nursing expertise ACLS certification required Strong cardiac care skills, especially with cardiac drips and respiratory support devices Ability to work every other weekend and holidays or fill difficult shifts Comfortable floating to other step-down or medical-surgical units as needed Unit Benefits and Culture Work alongside seasoned nurses with 30+ years of experience and supportive new graduates 0% turnover rate over the past 2 years reflects positive team dynamics and accountability Exposure to advanced equipment such as ZOLL monitors, Baxter pumps, GE telemetry, and Hillrom beds Recognized for excellence by Daisy, Rose, Bee, and Pride Awards Scheduling includes 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per rotation for work-life balance This contract position is ideal for nurses seeking a rewarding step-down role with cutting-edge cardiac care and strong team collaboration.
