Job Description Job Description BESTAFF is hiring a Palletizer in the New Albany area. Pay rate: $18.00 hourly M-F 10-hour shift 5am-3:30PM Spanish or English is okay! Must pass background check and drug screen. Job Summary The Palletizer is responsible for safely and efficiently stacking, wrapping, labeling, and preparing finished seed product (bags, totes, or cases) for shipment. This role supports production flow by ensuring finished goods are palletized to specification, staged correctly, and moved to warehouse/shipping areas. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate palletizing equipment and/or manually stack product onto pallets following stacking patterns and customer requirements. Indeed Apply pallet wrap, corner boards, slip sheets, and labels to secure loads for transport. Verify product counts, lot numbers, labels, and packaging quality before staging. Use pallet jacks and/or forklifts (if certified) to move finished pallets to staging or warehouse locations. Maintain production pace to prevent line backups; communicate issues to the line lead/supervisor. Indeed Inspect pallets and packaging materials for damage; remove nonconforming pallets from service. Keep palletizing area clean and organized (sweep up debris, dispose of wrap, keep walkways clear). Follow safety and PPE requirements, including precautions for working around seed treatment/coating materials. Assist with basic troubleshooting of palletizer/line equipment and report mechanical problems promptly. Indeed Support general warehouse tasks as needed (loading materials, staging, inventory support). Safety & Quality Expectations Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout awareness, and safe lifting procedures. Comply with food/ag/industrial hygiene expectations and site-specific handling requirements for coated seed products. Maintain accurate documentation as required (production sheets, pallet tags, scan systems if used). Required Qualifications Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for long periods. Ability to work in a production/warehouse environment (noise, dust, heat/cold variations). Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities. Dependable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime when needed. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification or prior forklift experience. Prior palletizing, packaging, or warehouse experience. Experience in agricultural processing, seed, chemical, or manufacturing environments. Typical Physical Requirements Frequent bending, lifting, twisting, and reaching. Repetitive motion and prolonged standing.
