Tool & Die Maker , Chicago, IL Currently looking for a Tool & Die Maker to fill a first shift direct hire opening with a global company in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities of the Tool & Die Maker Be responsible for the tool and die making for multistation blank-through, parting and chop-off progressive dies for all straight side metal stamping presses and other presses including US Baird, Dennison, Neff, Aida, Stamtec and Verson. Review AutoCAD or other CAD drawings and build the detailed components of progressive dies such as die blocks, strippers, stick cutting punches, form punches, punch plates, etc. Familiarity with fourslides, multislides, transfer presses and deep draw tooling is a plus Offer input regarding proper punch-to-die clearances, when to add coin blocks to reduce burrs, analyze strip layouts, verify bend allowances, etc. Offer input regarding press and secondary cycle times and overall progressive tooling costs. This is a first shift position. Requirements of the Tool & Die Maker High School Diploma At least entry level tool & die apprenticeship experience. Compensation of the Tool & Die Maker The targeted hourly base salary for this first shift position ranges from $25.00 to $42.00 per hour depending on experience.
