This role offers the chance to provide critical care to a diverse patient population in a supportive, technology-enabled environment. Responsibilities include: Delivering nursing care on a 25-bed surgical trauma stepdown unit with patient ratios generally 1:4, up to 1:5 Managing patients post-acute surgical intervention such as trauma, bariatric, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, and cardiac cases Monitoring patients with neurological conditions, cardiac events, respiratory distress, sepsis, and complex IV medication regimens Utilizing EMR systems to accurately document care and communicate with interdisciplinary teams Adhering to unit protocols including vital sign monitoring, telemetry, and patient assessments every four hours Collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, evolving environment Qualifications: Current RN license with experience in stepdown or progressive care units ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required Excellent customer service and communication skills Preferred: trauma or orthopedic experience and familiarity with Meditech EMR Location: Situated in the vibrant city of Plano, Texas, this facility offers an excellent quality of life with a blend of urban amenities and suburban comfort.
