is seeking a

Technical Lead / Lead Developer

to support a federal healthcare client in the DC metro area. In this role, you will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and operating enterprise CMS systems in accordance with CMS SDLC, infrastructure standards, and federal requirements.

This role will be hybrid with 1x a week in the office.

This mission requires deep technical expertise across enterprise application development, data platforms, and system integrations in complex, multi-platform environments supporting healthcare and provider data.

As a core team member, you’ll work alongside architects, engineers, and program leadership to deliver compliant, scalable, and mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities include (but are not necessarily limited to):

Lead the design, development, and operation of

enterprise online applications

using

J2EE platforms

Design and maintain

HBase and enterprise database solutions

supporting high-volume healthcare and provider records

Develop and manage

electronic file interfaces (EFI)

for secure inbound and outbound data exchanges

Implement system integrations across CMS and external partner systems

Apply

CMS SDLC methodologies ,

CMS IT Infrastructure Framework , and

CMS Technical Reference Model (TRM)

standards

Support operations in

multi-platform, multi-tool environments , including troubleshooting and performance optimization

Ensure systems meet

CMS quality standards , federal technical requirements, and contract deliverables

Plan, direct, and supervise technical work performed under the contract

Collaborate frequently with

CMS technical staff

to align technical approaches and resolve issues

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).

5+ years of experience in IT

Strong experience with

J2EE enterprise application development

Hands‑on experience with

HBase databases

and distributed data environments

Experience designing and supporting

electronic file interfaces and system integrations

Extensive experience operating in

multi‑platform, multi‑tool environments

Strong understanding of

CMS SDLC , CMS infrastructure standards, and CMS operating environments

Experience supporting

healthcare information systems , particularly those processing provider or healthcare records

Ability to lead and supervise technical teams under federal contracts

Prior experience supporting

CMS programs

Familiarity with federal healthcare data standards and compliance requirements

Experience supporting production systems in regulated environments
