Position Summary:

The Director of Applications and Training provides leadership, governance and management support to the delivery and use of clinical and business health information applications. The Director of Applications leads the IS Analyst and Training teams to support strategic imperatives in accordance with HealthPoint services delivery requirements, business strategy and brand, and enables prioritized projects and process improvement initiatives.

As a key leader of HealthPoint the Director of Applications and Training creates and fosters a culture of inclusivity, respect, understanding, compassion, and empowerment in service to the well-being and growth of its patients, communities, and employees.

Compensation is dependent on skills and experience.

Your contribution to the team includes:

Provides leadership, operational oversight, and support to best enable the Health Centers to provide quality patient experience and business success.

Understands the current operational state of their business unit, identifying opportunities for improvement and using HLMS to drive both new and improved programs and processes. Develops, monitors, and reviews the team’s performance metrics.

Works with the Applications Manager to ensure all clinical (e.g. Medical, Pharmacy and Dental) and related business health information applications (e.g. Practice Management) are implemented, updated, and operational.

Oversees HealthPoint’s Health Information Technology (HIT) software training program design and implementation.

Develops and maintains a process to ensure staff capacity is communicated and managed for both daily operations, as well as project, initiative, and process improvement work efforts.

Collaborates with VPs, Directors, and other internal stakeholders to define, design, develop, implement and operate the programs, process, systems and tools required to enable the desired patient, community and employee experience. Collaborates with external stakeholders.

Chairs the HIT Advisory Group table to ensure comprehensive impact analysis and change management. Works collaboratively across departments and groups in the development of new processes and to problem solve issues related to use of HIT software systems.

Informs workforce planning, performance monitoring, and performance improvement. Works to ensure healthy resilient employees. Serves as mentor and coach to foster professional development.

Responsible for the business unit’s procedures and processes to ensure quality service and adherence to policy.

Provides insights regarding current and near-term Health Information Technology (HIT) opportunities in support of HealthPoint’s strategic imperatives.

Responsible for vendor relations management such as Medical, Pharmacy, Dental applications.

Provides oversight for technical and clinical software reviews, new builds and applications during implementation and maintenance phases.

Responsible for hiring, performance management, talent development, employee relations, recognition, and training of staff by providing effective leadership. Ensure all work is completed in support and enhancement of the objectives and goals of the organization.

Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to streamline and enhance office operations using the HealthPoint Lean Management System (HLMS) tools and processes.

Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. Advanced degree in clinical or clinical informatics preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years related experience in health care or equivalent combination of education and experience, including experience in healthcare applications and support.

Experience and success developing others through influence and management while fostering excellence. Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and promote teamwork across disciplines and cross-intuiitionally. Committed to both accepting and managing for accountability with track record of building capacities for continuous improvement. Interest and track record in developing others. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures/reports/documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and speak effectively in front of groups of employees and clients. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and self-awareness in working with others. Practices confidentiality and discretion.

Expert ability to operate computers and related software programs including Microsoft Office, electronic health records system and Smartsheet.

Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start.

HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. If you have received the Johnson & Jrown vaccine, we ask that you provide documentation demonstrating proof of an alternate COVID vaccine or vaccine series.

All new employees are also required to show proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, annual Influenza and TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer .

Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.

If you are providing immunizations from an electronic health record, please ensure that you obtain a copy of your full records rather than a screenshot. Each page of your records should include your first and last name, date of birth, and the name of the health system from which the records are pulled.

If records do not show any data, please seek guidance from your provider for further assistance.

If you are unable to provide proof as noted above, you can choose to have a lab titer drawn to check immunity or to be re-vaccinated. If you receive vaccination(s) or lab titers, you may obtain them through HealthPoint at no cost to you. This is a great opportunity to get your immunization record up to date at no additional expense.
