Working Environment : Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Primary Function:
To provide administrative support for Br. 66/Grand Jury Unit.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepare information and Indictments
Proofread and sort documents
Distribute case files evenly among employees on a daily basis
Research criminal backgrounds through Leads and I-Clear
Prepare blue backs
Trouble shoot various problems that may arise within Br. 66/Grand Jury
Assist with providing training to members of the unit
Assist Unit supervisor when needed
Facilitate the transfer of files to the Office of the Chief Judge and district locations
Transfer charging documents to the clerk of the Circuit Court
Interact regularly with State’s Attorney’s Office employees
Interact with the public
Interact with various outside agencies
Maintain confidentiality of information
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Must be able to manage high work volume
Proficiency in CRIMES and Clerks required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Clerks, and
The candidate must be able to work independently and perform duties in high pressure situations.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of the 1961 Criminal Code of ILCS
Working knowledge of AOIC Code and class orders Working knowledge of the Preliminary Hearing/Grand Jury Business Rules
Working knowledge of I-Clear
Typing speed of 50+ wpm
