Norfolk Collegiate is seeking an Academic Dean to provide leadership and coordination for the academic program, supporting students and faculty in achieving excellence in teaching and learning. This position oversees student records, course scheduling, textbook coordination, and standardized testing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective communication across the school community. The Academic Dean serves as a bridge between administration and classroom teachers, helping to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment with the school's mission and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and confidential student academic records, including enrollment, transcripts, grades, and attendance, in accordance with school policies and regulations

Develop, publish, and manage the middle and upper school master schedule in collaboration with academic leaders, ensuring efficient use of staffing, classroom space, and student placement

Coordinate student course registration, resolve scheduling conflicts, and maintain up-to-date records in Blackbaud

Manage the textbook selection and adoption process in partnership with department chairs and faculty; oversee ordering and distribution through the online bookstore

Coordinate all aspects of end-of-year exams and standardized testing (e.g., PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, ERB), including registration, scheduling, materials management, and reporting

Collaborate with the Advancement Operations Manager to prepare and issue transcripts, report cards, and academic reports; verify student status for internal and external reporting needs

Generate and analyze enrollment and academic data to support institutional planning and decision-making

Teach one to two classes in the area of expertise

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in education, curriculum & instruction, or a related field

Leadership experience in a school setting
